3D Art: Adult Workshop – Slip Trailing Surface Design

Our Skill-building Series exist to provide continued learning opportunities for our students and experienced ceramicists.
Discover the art of slip trailing, a decorative technique that adds texture, dimension, and intricate detail to your ceramic work! In this hands-on workshop, you’ll learn how to apply clay slip with precision on a set of four coasters, creating raised patterns and designs that bring depth and character to your pieces. You’ll experiment with different slip consistencies to explore a range of effects, from crisp, fine lines to flowing, textured trails. We’ll also introduce Mason stains to add beautiful color variations to your slip work. Each participant will receive a slip trailer kit to continue exploring this technique at home. Whether you’re new to slip trailing or looking to refine your skills, this workshop is a great way to elevate your ceramic decorating techniques!

Please note participants will work on leather hard sample coasters unless you provide your own leather hard work.
