Jurassic Code: Weekly Coding Drop-In (Ages 8-17) at Library (FH)
June 29 @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm
FreeNo registration required. Limited space and supplies.
Ready to dig deep? Join us for our weekly drop-in series to build your entry for the Fiero Code “Jurassic Code” contest!
Planet Fiero has a mysterious prehistoric world hidden underground. Your mission is to use Code Blocks to create a “digger-style” game.
How it Works
- The Goal: Build and polish your game for Fiero Code’s contest running June 1-July 31.
- The Tech: Laptops will be available but limited; bring your own device if possible.
- The Support: This is a self-guided work session. While formal instruction isn’t provided, you can troubleshoot your code with fellow attendees or library staff.
- The Perks: Fuel your coding with provided snacks (while supplies last)!
Getting Started
To participate, you’ll need a Fiero Code account. If you don’t have one yet, our staff can help you set it up. Please bring:
- A valid email address
- Your Farmington Community Library card number and PIN.
Level Up Your Skills
While not required, we recommend trying these Fiero Code courses before you arrive to give your coding a head start:
- Hour of Code
- Code Blocks
- Code Blocks Games
Can’t make it to the Library? You can still enter the contest by coding from home using your FCL card! Create a Fiero Code account to get started.
