Thanksgiving Address: Greetings to the Natural World at Nature Center

October 20 @ 10:00 am - 11:00 am

Free

We’ll be in Oakland County this month! If you’re in the area, please join us at Farmington Hills Nature Center for a beautiful morning centered in gratitude.

This is a free event, but it’s helpful for you to secure tickets through Eventbrite. Walk-ups are also welcome.

These monthly gatherings aim to experience a way of acknowledging the Natural World, greeting all living things, and showing gratitude. The Haudenosaunee People encourage this practice to be shared widely. John Stokes, wrote the booklet we use during the gathering in order that we “share in these words, that our concentrated attention might help us rediscover our balance, respect, and oneness with Nature.”

Monthly meetings are open to everyone of all ages. They are designed for informal and formal educators to experience the Thanksgiving Address in community so they can reflect and consider how they might use this practice with their students, nature center patrons, etc.

While this is an outdoor event, if there happens to be heavy rain, we can shift into an indoor space
