A Kresge Artist\, University of Michigan lecturer\, frequent guest soloist for the Detroit Symphony Orchestra and other renowned orchestras\, Xiao Dong Wei has travelled the world sharing her profound musical talent. Yuki Mack has performed throughout the United States and three continents. Yuki’s performances include a broad range of piano works including chamber music and as a soloist with many orchestras. The featured artists include Alice McAllister Tillman\, Dewayne McAllister\, Peter McAllister and Maestro Willie McAllister\, Jr. Individually their excellence is well known\, but when brought together for Once Upon a December Eve\, they create a magic that is not often witnessed!\nAlice McAllister Tillman\, Soprano\, is a versatile artist whose experiences have taken her to concert halls and recital stages throughout North America. She is known for her ability to perform a diverse range of literature spanning many genres. She has been presented in solo recitals that include Art Song\, Operatic Arias\, Spirituals\, Musical Theater and Jazz. She is frequently engaged in Oratorio and Symphonic presentations. Alice is a long-standing member of the Award-Winning Brazeal Dennard Chorale and accepted the role of Artistic Director in September of 2015. In her debut season as Artistic Director\, Ms. McAllister Tillman had the honor of conducting The Brazeal Dennard Chorale and the Detroit Symphony Orchestra in a performance of Roland Carter’s Lift Every Voice and Sing. She holds a Master of Music in Vocal Performance\, a Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance and a State of Michigan Teacher Certification from The University of Michigan School of Music\, Theater & Dance. Ms. McAllister Tillman is the creator and featured solo artist of Once Upon a December Eve. Additional chills and fun await in the gym\, which also serves as a backup venue in case of inclement weather. Costumes\, laughter and a touch of the mysterious are all part of the experience.\nThe free concert titled Music for a Spooky Time begins at 4:30 p.m. with Sean Michael Jackman\, St. John Music Director and Organist/Pianist. Joining him are acclaimed featured guest performers – soprano Amber Rogers and violinist Minkyung Lee. Jackman will guide listeners through a hauntingly beautiful program of classical masterpieces and theatrical favorites from stage and screen.\nCome for the treats\, stay for the music – this is a fun afternoon of chills you won’t want to miss! A free-will offering will be collected during intermission. Following the concert Spooky Treats and beverages will be served in the lobby. This event is free and open to all.
