DESCRIPTION:Glaskolben Blown Bulb WorkshopAges: 16+$100 for 5 bulb tubesInstructor: Frank Andreae\nJoin us for a fun experience working with blowing glass – without a furnace!\nGlaskolben uses pre-blown clear glass tubes with a blow pipe end that you can fill with colored glass frit\, heat over a torch flame\, and blow to create an ornament or a self watering plant bulb.\nThe workshop will discuss different types of glass\, safety practices and a demonstration of the Glaskolben technique. This includes adding the colored frit\, slowly heating the tube over a flame to soften the glass\, and blowing to expand the bulb.\nBring your powerful lungs since the glass does not stay hot for long. A quick\, strong exhale from the diaphragm will inflate the bulb\, but hesitation will allow it to cool.\nYou will have five tubes at your disposal to create different bulbs. The first one or two are usually practice bulbs until you get the “feel” of the warmed glass to make a better bulb. Expect to get 2-3 completed bulbs. Typical bulb is 2”-2.5” in diameter.\nIf you want your bulb turned into an ornament\, we will cut off the blow tube and add a cap and hanger.\nFor beginners or experienced alike! All equipment and supplies are included.\nThis workshop is a pre-paid type. Choose number of people and fill out the “Get Tickets” information for payment.
