The featured artists include Alice McAllister Tillman\, Dewayne McAllister\, Peter McAllister and Maestro Willie McAllister\, Jr. Individually their excellence is well known\, but when brought together for Once Upon a December Eve\, they create a magic that is not often witnessed!\nAlice McAllister Tillman\, Soprano\, is a versatile artist whose experiences have taken her to concert halls and recital stages throughout North America. She is known for her ability to perform a diverse range of literature spanning many genres. She has been presented in solo recitals that include Art Song\, Operatic Arias\, Spirituals\, Musical Theater and Jazz. She is frequently engaged in Oratorio and Symphonic presentations. Alice is a long-standing member of the Award-Winning Brazeal Dennard Chorale and accepted the role of Artistic Director in September of 2015. In her debut season as Artistic Director\, Ms. McAllister Tillman had the honor of conducting The Brazeal Dennard Chorale and the Detroit Symphony Orchestra in a performance of Roland Carter’s Lift Every Voice and Sing. She holds a Master of Music in Vocal Performance\, a Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance and a State of Michigan Teacher Certification from The University of Michigan School of Music\, Theater & Dance. Hawk Recreation Staff will plan and oversee activities for a fun-filled night\, including pizza party\, swimming\, giant inflatables and other fun activities. You do not need to be a passholder to participate. Emergency form must be filled out at check-in.\n*Participants will have supervised access to the pool and should BRING A SWIMSUIT AND TOWEL if they wish to participate in pool activities. DESCRIPTION:Horton the Elephant\, the Cat in the Hat and all of your favorite Dr. Seuss characters spring to life onstage in Seussical KIDS! \nTransporting audiences from the Jungle of Nool to the Circus McGurkus\, the Cat in the Hat\, our narrator\, tells the story of Horton\, an elephant who discovers a speck of dust containing tiny people called the Whos\, including Jojo\, a Who child\, who gets in trouble for thinking too many “thinks.” Horton’s challenge is twofold — not only must he protect the Whos from a world of naysayers and dangers\, but he must also guard an abandoned egg that’s been left in his care by the irresponsible Mayzie La Bird. Although Horton faces ridicule\, danger\, kidnapping and a trial\, the intrepid Gertrude McFuzz never loses faith in him.
